Conservative Councillor Peter Wade becomes the 45th Mayor of Havant

Councillor Peter Wade has taken up his role as The Worshipful Mayor of Havant. 

At the annual event held in the Council Chamber, Cllr Elaine Shimbart handed over the Mayoral responsibilities that she has held for the last year.  

Speaking after the ceremony The Mayor of Havant, Cllr Peter Wade said: “I am very proud and honoured to be the 45th Mayor of Havant and look forward to promoting the borough and all it has to offer.

“I especially want to promote community cohesion by working together and of course, celebrating all the achievements within our community.”

Over the next 12 months all funds raised by The Mayor’s charity Appeal Fund will benefit:

The Rowans Hospice, a local charity which provides high quality specialist care for people with serious and life-limiting illness.

The Riverside School, a special educational needs school located in the borough 

The Mayor of Havant, Cllr Peter Wade will also be holding a number of events throughout the year, anyone wishing to attend or would like more information should contact the Mayor’s secretary.
